Forgiveness is the ultimate form of love. You are simply giving a gift of love to yourself first and then to someone who has hurt you in the past. It frees you from the pain and resentment and moves you to a state of joy and abundance.

Pragito Dove, master trainer and meditation expert of Discover Meditation, explains that, “Forgiveness is realizing that there is nothing to forgive.” She explains her story of how she came to this realization and how she was able to move her relationship to love and compassion with her perpetrator.

Sometimes we can really feel hurt by the people who are very close to us: our parents, siblings, close friends, co-workers, or family members. It makes us angry and sad, and we feel victimized and vulnerable. It is all in our past though. Some people choose to live on carrying the sad and debilitating feelings of their past throughout their whole lives, but many of us choose to get rid of this heavy, depressing load and fill its place with a happy one. Carrying sad memories about is like transporting a heavy load in the back of our mind. However, this load has also shaped our character and made us stronger and more resilient to fight back against obstacles in our lives. They can be good lessons for our future, but we need to get rid of this load for a happier future. We might not be able to forget our experiences, but we can definitely forgive.

7 Treasures offers this guide on how to forgive now and benefit our health, feelings, knowledge, faith, family, career and wealth.

Tell yourself that this person did not know any better. Tell yourself that everything happened inadvertently.

Accept the situation as a past occurrence that you can’t change.

Write down your side of the story in a notebook and keep it for your records. This way, it is out of your head and on to paper.

Believe that justice will be served one day. Leave it to the higher powers so that you can clear your spirit of negative thoughts such as hate or revenge.

Allow yourself some time for all the wounds to heal. In a few months or years most of it will be gone from your memories. Time will heal.

Think of the situation as very small compared to many bigger issues that happen in the world. Issues such as the 2004 Indian Oceans Tsunami that killed more than two hundred thousand people is such one such event in the history books that will put your problem into perspective. Your problem is not as big as you think.

Look at yourself in the mirror and appreciate your breath and the power that is within you to create new and happy memories for your future. You deserve the best.

I have been using acupuncture for almost every kind of pain that I have in my body. I have used it for my allergies, asthma, shoulder pain, back pain, joint pain and headaches.

Acupuncture is an ancient form of Chinese Medicine. It restores balance by inserting a fine needle onto a point on an invisible line (meridians) on the body. Some of these needles are then connected to a vibrator which increases muscle stimulation. After twenty to half an hour of relaxation, the pain is reduced or completely gone. Sometimes it takes more than one visit to get pain free. Acupuncture is the best way to treat for small every day aches and pains without taking any medication or spending a lot of money.

According to Christina Tao of, Tao To Wellness, in Berkeley, California, acupuncture can be used for variety of symptoms. The wide use of acupuncture is for pain management: headaches, migraines, back pains, joint and muscle injuries, common colds and allergies, and stress related symptoms like depression and anxiety. Christina also treats infertility, and she has many happy and satisfied patients.

If you like to learn more about this form of alternative medicine, please visit the Los Angelese Chinese Learning Center.

Serving others is a significant part of everyone’s life. I find satisfaction in serving others, and I feel loved and honored to do things for other people. However, the big lesson here is that I also should know my capacity for serving. For instance, if I have two hours available for helping a friend, I should not commit myself to help all day. The choice and terms of how I serve should be my decision, not the other person’s. To me, the end result should be satisfaction and pleasure not stress, guilt and resentment.

Kristy Rogers, founder of KristyRogersConnects.com, offers some alternative ways to say “No” politely to avoid breaking our backs and/or breaking our relationships.

We are much more accessible now, and for that reason alone we are expected to be available and respond back to all requests. We are expected to be fast and on time. Occasionally, we overload ourselves with more chores that we can handle; and then we get to a breaking point. At this point, we either isolate ourselves from the people who we are serving, or quit altogether. Both of these actions can be avoided only if we had known our limited serving capacity and communicated sincerely with the other person.

Kristy Rogers has been there before. As she tells her story, she came out of it and created a better solution for starting the relationship right from the start. Kristy connects people on a personal level in a professional setting where they get to know something about the other person.

We are on a journey to self-development and growth. To avoid costly mistakes, lets learn from each other and be each others’ support. Help us by sharing your insights here.

Please comment below:

How do you deal with a situation and say “No” without hurting someone’s feelings?

How do you relate to Kristy’s story?

I received a newsletter email from a social media expert recently. It looked as it was written specifically for me. My name was mentioned within the text in several places. Since I don’t know her personally, I am assuming that she has done her homework and has put me in with a list of people who have similar interests as mine and used technology to speak directly to me. Whatever is the case, I feel connected and interested in receiving her newsletter every month. This is the future of business communication in a highly targeted global community, and technology makes it possible.

As I establish my new business, I am learning better ways of communication. I sought the expert advice of Jan Yanehiro, Direcotor of Multimedia Department at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Jan insists on originality and clarity of the message which will never change. She says communication is story telling that should evoke emotions with your listeners, and you know its effectiveness when you bring a change in their thoughts or actions.

The essence of communication is passing on your message in a way to be understood by the receiver.Good communication leads to leadership, or maybe it’s the other way around, as James Humes, author and speechwriter, says, “The art of communication is the language of leadership.” As business owners, we must be aware of the changes and adapt to the new ways of doing business every day. An important part of our success depends on how we deliver our message and where we are reaching our target audience.

Jan Yanehiro, who co-hosted the Evening Magazine TV show from 1976 to 1991, offers the must-have-tips from her fifteen years of on-air experience for better communication. The first time I met her it was during an open house presentation for prospective students four years ago. I remember her talking about media and the future of communication. Now, the future has arrived, and almost all of her predictions are here: videos are the future; Twitter is going to be big; everything will be available mobile and on demand. Personalized broadcasting of yourself and your message through multiple channels is still the uptrend.

These are the total ingredients for today’s communication needs:

Content – Must be original and compelling

Message – Must be clear and contain only one idea at a time

Delivery – Must be fast to grab attention in seven seconds or less

Presentation – Must be done professionally whether it is a blog, a video, a photo or a sound.

My condolences to the families of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting; it is heart breaking to see innocent people, especially children, become victims of evil minded criminals, like the Sandy Hook Elementary School mass shooting. It is proof that such a horrendous crime can happen in an affluent and safest place in America. You can protect yourself from many things, but protecting yourself from the unknown evil that live among us is not an easy one.

If Afghanistan’s Taliban beheads and cuts noses or ears, there is pretty simple explanation of it for the rest of us. We think they are narrow minded, brain washed, barbaric group who are not educated or have not seen the world. They simply don’t know a better way of living. But, to see harsher crimes come out of young men here in America, it raises some questions about our society. On one hand, the young men responsible for the Columbine High School, Virginia Tech Institute, and Sandy Hook Elementary School massacres are loners who didn’t get along with others and had tough time living their lives. On the other hand, what part of the society failed to see what these young men were going through? Can we blame their parents, teachers or larger community? Or, the government for its gun control policy?

Young girls and women in Afghanistan burn themselves to death or permanent disfigurement because they don’t have any other way out of their miserable lives with their parents or husbands. But, what could be in these young men’s lives that they didn’t see a way out?

On a bigger picture, our system in America does is not pressure people like dictatorship, communism, fanatics or monarchs. We have a capitalist society with lots of freedom to allow its citizens to live in peace with equal constitutional rights. Our lives are full of choices that at times feel overwhelming for young adults. We have become a giant commercial and celebrity nation with too many messages and too few listeners. Technology isolated us as a family and community. Our kids grow up too fast with violent video games, Hollywood movies, and provocative music. Our kids are robbed of their innocence. Before they are mature enough, reality hits them as young adults, and they are not prepared to take on the enormous responsibility of their real lives.

My thoughts and prayers are with all those who have suffered this big loss, and I hope that they find peace in their hearts to move on with their lives, and let’s pray that nobody else is faced with such evil minded sick criminals ever again.

Slow economies bring about new opportunities. Perhaps now is the best time to escape from unemployment lines or unsatisfactory jobs and turn your passion into a rewarding business opportunity.

It has been almost fourteen years since I took the leap of self-employment, and I am glad I did it. I have no particular passion, but in love with taking an idea and making it work. I worked with my husband in creating and running four separate small businesses: sign making, a restaurant, an import company, and a custom picture framing. My latest passion is Social Video Buzz, and I am taking it as a solo entrepreneur out of my home office. This is what I have always wanted.

The uncertainty of today’s job market is a good enough reason to take the risk of being our own boss. Yes, it is not easy, but it is highly rewarding. Paul Reddick, CEO of the Smoking Pig BBQ, took this risk and made it work for him. When he was laid off from his corporate job as a semiconductor sales manager, Paul put his experience to work and developed a business plan for his passion, South Eastern BBQ. His supportive wife and his motivation to work for himself are the two main reasons to his business success today. Customer reviews are raving about Smoking Pig BBQ joint in San Jose, California. The secret is keeping his promise for serving fresh, slow cooked and authentic recipes.

Besides his pearl of wisdom on how to take risks, Paul offers these tips from his personal experience to help us make better decisions in starting our own business ideas:

Run the numbers & avoid debt – Make sure to make a profit from the beginning; this is possible if there is no debt involved.

Dive into it –No amount of planning will prepare you for the details that you will eventually be faced with.

Get help – Hire passionate employees as soon as you can afford to work with you, not for you.

Keep consistency with your offering – Offer the best service and product consistently. You will not be able to please everyone 100%, but you will gain respect for what you do. It will pay off.

These are very practical tips. It is normal to be nervous and be challenged with new obstacles every day. For me, it is the risk worth taking to grow as an individual and fulfill my goal of meeting people and sharing stories for inspiration.

I see many business owners strive for success relentlessly. Unfortunately, many don’t take the time to define success and what does it means to them. Running a business turns into a challenging game that needs to be strategized constantly and be taken to the next step. It comes down to finding satisfaction through chaos, stress, and hard work. A great deal of time passes by playing in this game before realizing that the real success is not always tied to money, position or power.

Of course, success means different things to different people. To me it means dancing to the beat of my own drums: Freedom - freedom to make decisions, to make mistakes, and to make memories.

Sourinder Pal, a real estate investor and the owner of five restaurants in San Rafael, California, is an ambitious, smart, and hard-working business man. He started with one restaurant, Lotus Cuisine of India, in 1998, which was an instant success. Very shortly, Pal invested into real estate and opened other businesses. Before he knew it, Pal was faced with a series of unpleasant events: identity theft, massive lawsuit along with the drop in the housing market. He lost a lot of money along with precious time fighting his lawsuit, but luckily he found a new meaning for his success.

Sourinder Pal used his father’s wisdom that “if they (customers) are pleased, they will come back again and again.” Lotus is an authentic Indian restaurant that is pleasing to all senses: uplifting background music, original paintings, tall and elegant statues, fresh flowers, and the aroma of ancient Indian spices.

Pal defines his success to be his customers’ happiness. Perhaps this is the main reason for the success of his restaurant, and I wanted to know the reasons behind the success of his restaurant. Pal gave me these three reasons for crashing his competition:

Being Patient – to listen and solve problems

Being Available – to make personal connections

Being Flexible – to offer customers what they want

Now, let me share my favorite quote from Albert Einstein about success. It has helped me define my values every time I am faced with a decision to make.

These are some of the books that has helped me open up my horizon, taught me to live based on values, and reminds me to look at success as a journey, not a destination:

A Touch of Greatness, Frank Tibolt (I can’t find a copy of this online.)

And my favorite audio book:

I love to read your comments on what does success means to you. Your insights become a valuable lesson for the rest of us.

Thanks for sharing the knowledge.

1. The Treasure Of Our Health

First, no amount of money and success will do us any good if our health is not good. And, certainly it is not worth it if we lose our optimal health for money, fame, success or anything else of that sort. There is only ONE of me and you in the world, and once we are sick and weak we are done. All our hopes and wishes will remain in our heart inside us and we will not have the energy needed to go on. We will become a dependent on someone else to take care of us. Taken that this person is the one that we love the most, we have no choice but to put the burden of our sickness on that person. I mean our health is the number 1 treasure that we have, and if we use it, abuse it and deplete it, we will not go too far. So, the number one priority every day, no matter what else is there for us to do, is our health. We MUST deposit nutritious food, effective movement, and plenty of rest time every day to our health treasure. There is no substitution to this requirement to a person with goals and dreams.

2. The Treasure Of Our Feeling

We have this inner power that our emotions or feelings control which after our physical appearance introduces us to the world. We are either kind, warm, loving, understanding, and peaceful person or we are angry, depressed, anxious, or jealous person. Depending on the situation all of us have had a little of each one of these characteristics. To know that this is a treasure that can help us live a balanced and a happy life, we should control our emotions in way that they work for us autonomously. This is the treasure that gives us the good feeling. We get our satisfaction and happiness from this treasure. So, it is as important to bring more of the situations into our life to place ourselves in harmony with what we always desire, which is love, laughter, and kindness.

3. The Treasure Of Our Intellict

This is our brain power. It is our knowledge and wisdom. Our knowledge depends on how much we know and how we conduct our life. Our world has done amazing discoveries and inventions that we just have to know about them to make our lives easier. This knowledge doesn’t come to us magically or unintentionally. We have to work for it. We go to school and universities to learn, and even long after graduating from academic institutions, our normal life becomes the learning platform that we must absorb every day. Some of us take it serious and try to add to this treasure as much as possible, so at the end we a balanced and happier life.

4. The Treasure Of Our Faith

We need to see miracles of life itself within us and all around us. We have no choice but to believe that there is a much bigger creator that controls the universe. This belief and following a guide that our religion gives us, we know what is right and what is wrong. It sets our road map towards achieving something bigger and better that we are capable as a human beings. Our faith gives us the light to find our way in the darkest hour. It gives us hope.

5. The Treasure Of Our Family

We are not created to live an individual life. We are a community. We are vulnerable. We need each other to share every moment of our life with people who we love. If we are healthy, happy, knowledgeable with sound spirituality, we will need others to witness it and use it. We want to be different from others. We want to ultimately be needed and appreciated for what we do. Our closest safety net is our family and friends. We need to have people in our treasure chest so when we need them they are there for us.

6. The Treasure of Our Career

Many of us work for living and are stuck in a job or career that we don’t like or don’t want. Having the career that is based on our strengths and talent is very important. Good career is one that we don’t feel tired, stressed and overwhelmed doing it all they. It must be something that we do even if we have all the money in the world. It is never too late to have the career of our choice because it is one treasure that will give us the most satisfaction and money.

7. The Treasure Of Our Wealth

After all, we will not be able to live without money. A happy and healthy life does require us to earn an income and be independent. Of course, the amount of money that we can earn and we think we need to live a happy and healthy life depends from person to person, but it doesn’t require us to have a lot of money. There is always ways to add revenue or cut the unnecessary expenses from your life so you can live a satisfied life. This treasure depends on all your other treasures that if you do well on all six of your above treasures, you will sure will have no problem feeling any less wealthy than the wealthiest person alive.

Are you satisfied with your own treasures?
